Description
Overall, I believe the car is in outstanding condition both mechanically and cosmetically. More importantly, there is a highly detailed service history including inspections conducted by Porsche Central Operations (Porsche UK’s specialist team of technicians who maintain mainly Carrera GTs, 918s and select other cars). They describe themselves as being suitable for “those who appreciate the difference”.
I had the paintwork corrected by Elite Detailing when I bought the car (this was a 3 day job) and have not allowed anyone but me to wash it since. I’ll admit to being a bit James May about correct methods. I mainly use Gtechniq and Bilt Hamber products.
Lapis Blue Metallic seems to be a a very rare colour on a GT3 (despite being the colour of choice for the Minichamps model!). I have seen one pictured in the US and a mk1 in the UK. It appears as a discreet navy in dull light but becomes much brighter with a hint of purple in bright sunshine. Certainly distinctive compared to the lovely but more common Speed Yellow, Polar Silver etc.
Wheels are all in perfect condition having been refurbished by Porsche 2,000 miles ago (and only then due to paint bubbling from behind the wheels rather than any damage).
Exterior and interior trim is all in excellent condition and everything works as it should. The driver’s overmat shows slight wear from heel impressions and the side bolster has some of the usual slight creasing of the leather (not that bad – I am careful how I get in and out). The carpet mat in the front luggage compartment looks a little tufty. The windscreen is original and so shows 24,000 miles of age. I had one chip repaired (passenger side – virtually invisible) a few years ago.
The car is always carefully detailed throughout (by me). The car has been used year round some years so is not spotless underneath, but is pretty good.
The comfort spec. includes seats with electric recline and manual back and forward / height.
As with all GT3s there are no rear seats, although oddly, this car does have rear seat belts, which I believe were ordered by the original owner. I have not bothered to remove them.
Questions
Has the car had any accident damage?
Not that I am aware of. When I had the car detailed, I had the paint depth checked, and this suggested it was all original. None reported by anyone that’s looked at the car. I have never seen anything to make me suspect any.
Has the car had any paintwork?
In my time it’s had the front bumper cover repainted to address stone-chips. I have also had the wheels refurbished (by Porsche).
Has the car been tracked?
In my ownership, it’s only done a handful of fairly gentle laps (10?) to understand its handling better (Bruntingthorpe in damp conditions). I don’t have any information prior to that, but there’s nothing to indicate that it has been tracked or had a hard life (e.g. the LSD plates are still OK).
