Description

Overall, I believe the car is in outstanding condition both mechanically and cosmetically.  More importantly, there is a highly detailed service history. This has been almost solely with Porsche Group Operations/VIP Customer Unit while in my ownership. They are Porsche UK’s specialist team of technicians who maintain mainly Carrera GTs, 918s and other cars by introduction. 

They describe themsleves as being suitable for “those who appreciate the difference” and are very detailed in their inspections. They admit this will highlight items which may or may not warrant immediate attention, but I’ve always felt reassured by the care the car receives there.

You can see from the maintenance history that I have addressed many non-essential items throughout my ownership in the interest of keeping the car in the best condition possible.

I had the paintwork corrected by Elite Detailing when I bought the car  (this was a 3 day job) and have not allowed anyone else but me to wash it since.  I am fastidious about using correct methods and products (principally Gtechniq, Bilt-Hamber). 

Lapis Blue Metallic seems to be a a very rare colour on a GT3 (despite being the colour of choice for the Minichamps model 🙂 ).  I have seen one pictured in the US and a mk1 in the UK.  In twelve years of ownership I have never found another Lapis Blue mk2 in the UK. It appears as a discreet navy in dull light (similar to Midnight Blue), but becomes much brighter with a purple flip in bright sunshine.  Certainly distinctive compared to the lovely but more common Speed Yellow, Polar Silver etc.

Wheels are all in perfect condition having been refurbished by Porsche ~2,000 miles ago (and only then due to paint bubbling from behind the wheels rather than any damage).

Exterior and interior trim is all in excellent condition and everything works as it should.

The driver’s overmat shows slight wear from heel impressions and the side bolster has some of the usual slight creasing of the leather (not that bad – I am careful how I get in and out).  The carpet mat in the front luggage compartment looks a little tufty.  The windscreen is original and so shows 24,000 miles of age.  I had one chip repaired (passenger side – virtually invisible) a few years ago.

The car is spotless having been carefully detailed throughout.   The car has been used year round some years so is not spotless underneath, but is in good order.  I have had parts such as fuel tank support, brake lines replaced on suggestion or recommendation. Silencer to header clamps replaced in 2021 with stainless items.

The comfort spec. includes seats with electric recline and manual back and forward / height and climate control. 

As with all GT3s there are no rear seats although oddly, this car does have rear seat belts which I believe were ordered by the original owner.  I have not bothered to remove them.
